DAY I

First of all, I would like to thank u all who directly or indirectly motivated me to start my blog…

Letsintroduce myself….Dr. Anushree Sarkar from Kolkata, West Bengal, India….converting my passion to do makeover to a  carrier …a journey from a Beautician to an Aromatherapist…..from 1997 to present…since long 22 years as a service provider to many…..

For the very beginning day, I like to choose a subject related to our body which is very neglected but too important for us, I think a few of u can able to guess…may be or may not be…yah..its our feet. April is the National Foot Awareness Month and to celebrate it, I started my blog today.

INTRODUCTION

FOOT/FEET might not be the most attended part of the body, but they are the real heroes. As they help us to move 8000 to 10000 steps a day and 1,50,000 miles over the course of a lifespan(that approximately FOUR times around the world). On average feet absorbs a total force of 26000 pounds, that’s two African elephant!! Add a 2.5 inch heel to the equation? Body load increases upto 75%, i.e., 45,500 pounds.So  Babes...think twice before using heels. Is it interesting?

Structure of Foot

In humans, the foot is the most complex structure in the body.We would not have to discuss about the anatomical structure about the feet, yet gathering knowledge as well as interesting facts about the FEET. Consists of 26 bones, 133 joints, 107 ligaments, 19 muscles and almost 8000 nerves, it’s the “Most Ticklish Body Part”. Both feet (combined) made up of 25% of the body’s bone, 18% of joints and 6% of muscles. Feet have 2,50,000 sweat glands. Bones in the feet are continue to mature till we are 21.

 

 

FUNCTION

The two main function of feet are

  1. Weight bearing
  2. Propulsion in walking, running and jumping.

The other functions are

  1. Detoxification
  2. Treatment for any Health issue

IMPORTANCE OF THE FEET

To perform the major function, the foot requires a high degree of stability as well as flexibility. The multiple bones and joints give it the necessary flexibility, but to fully support any weight, the bones of the foot need to form an arch. There are three distinct arches present in the feet , which helps to determine a person’s foot type. whether it’s a High Arches or Neutral or Flat foot. When we walk or run, our body goes through a complex set of steps, a cycle known as ‘gait’ or walking cycle. Feet also absorb forces. Toes are also serve an important role. They provide the balance and support when we walk. They maintain contact with the ground about 75% of the time. Besides these, feet help us to detoxify our body by producing sweat upto half a pint(approx 8 ounces or 200 ml) through out the body. It’s possible to make Cheese with bacteria from foot sweat. According to the theory behind Acupressure (A Chinese Therapy), we have 15 pressure points on feet. Each part of the body connects with one of the pressure points on feet. Managing these 15 points will bring some relief.

HAPPY HOLI PRE CARE TIPS

 PRE-HOLI BEAUTY TIPS

HOLI,the festival of colours is at our doorstep. Its also known as the Festival of Love as it commences for Radha & Krishna.To enjoy this festival safely, we have to take care of us. Just follow some simple tips ...

  1. Get your body rehydrate from 3 days prior to Holi. Drink a lot of water, apply body oil,apply gel or moisturiser to face, give a hot oil massage to scalp and nourish hair.
  2. Do shampoo and condition your hair one day prior the festival as if anyone unwantedly throw colours on you, ur hair will be protected.
  3. On the auspicious day of Holi, before going outside, put a lot oil in your body, scalp and hair. Be careful to apply oil in your Hairline. If anyone want He or She may apply petrolium jelly instead of oil. But always careful to apply oil or petrolium jelly in the back of ear, sides of nose, sides of lips and all around your eyes.
  4. Apply nail polish in ur finger and yoe nails and put petrolium jelly inside your nail.
  5. Some people suggest to use sunscreen for protection. But personally, i believe that it may washed out due to water and sweat. Thus my suggestion is to apply oil.
  6. Ware full sleeve cotton dress only.
  7. Cover your head with a skirf
  8. Apply oil to ur child’s body and hair also...as they enjoy a lot more.

It also enhances HEALTH & BEAUTY. Here is a glance of benefits we hv from acupressure...

  1. HEALING

Acupressure treatment helps to relieves pain, balances energy and maintains overall health.It also improves our resistance to disease.

  1. HEIGHTENED SEXUALITY

Stimulating the body points may increase sexual energy and enhances pleasure.it may strengthen a couple’s spiritual relationship.it fortifies arousal and enhances pleasure.

  1. PREVENTS AGING

Accessing acupoints may boost collagen production and strengthen the facial muscle, thus it slows the appearance of wrinkles.

  1. HEALS TRAUMA

Acupressure therapy eases the emotional effect of trauma and corrects negativity and emotional imbalances.

 But today we just discuss about the self treatment done with acupressure points situated in our feet. We dont need to know the names of the pressure point rather to identify the position and what they did for us.

So after having a general knowledge on acupressure points, what should we do now?

We start to give massage over these points....with what?  With Essential oils...either pure or blended.  But there is a question? Why should we use essential oils in feet...because feet have enlarged pores as well as acupressure points. So treat ourselves, we use feet with pure or blended aroma oils. So what we want? We want a Happy mood, we want to feel relax and we want to get rid of all tension and pain. Now we mix some essential oils with carrier oil to make a blend and apply this to our feet and massage for at least 5 minutes twice daily on both feet. So we take LAVENDER,YLANG YLANG, FRANKINCENSE,EUCALYPTUS ...each 1ml and 100 ml EVENING PRIMROSE OIL and 100 ml JOJOBA OIL as CARRIER OIL to make the blend and give massage to our feet with acceptable pressure and circular massage.

Now the discussion focused on Toe Nail and FEET related problems and their solutions

PROBLEMS with TOE NAIL

  1. 1.       TOENAIL FUNGUS

Caused due to excessive contact with water or excessive sweating.

Solution is the use of A blend of LAVENDER, PEPPERMINT, TEA TREE and LEMONGRASS with any carrier oil.

  1. 2.       INGROWN TOENAIL

Caused due to use of improperly fitting shoes or socks, abnormal toe nail shape, nail trauma, family history, fungal infection, increasing age, poor leg circulation or lung disease.

Solution is the use of a blend of 3 drops Eucalyptus oil, 3 drops of Tea Tree Oil, 1 drop Oregano oil, 3 drops of Lavender Oil, 3 drops of Peppermint Oil and  50 ml of coconut oil and a good pedicure from a experienced pedicurist.

  1. 3.       TOENAIL TRAUMA

Caused due to repetitive rubbing against shoe( using too tight or too loose shoes), stubbing or due to falling an object on it.
